Honolulu and Chigasaki are sister cities since October 24, 2014.
Honolulu is the state capital and the most populous city of the U.S. state of Hawaii. The population of Honolulu was 390,738 according to the 2010 U.S. Census.
Chigasaki, with a population of about 240,000, is on the coast of Sagami Bay and is considered Japan’s surfing capital. It hosts the World Invitational Hula Festival. Its city assembly, known as the “Aloha Assembly,” wears aloha shirts to summer meetings.
