EN: This wooden cross is located at Wilerstrasse in Bärschwil. It is a simple wooden cross with a wooden shelter over the statue. The statue is painted, it could be made of ceramic, but the material is not to identify. The cross does not contain any date or inscriptions.

It looks fairly new. However, it stands on an ancient stone foundation which is hardly recognizable as such anymore, and it is facing away from the street. So I guess that a cross has been standing at this location for a long time and the street formerly had a different track layout.

DE: Dieses Holzkreuz befindet sich an der Wilerstrasse in Bärschwil. Es ist ein einfaches Holzkreuz mit einem hölzernen Schutzdach über der Statue. Die Statue ist bemalt, sie könnte aus Keramik sein, aber das Material ist nicht eindeutig zu identifizieren. Das Kreuz enthält keinerlei Datierungen oder Inschriften.

Es sieht ziemlich neu aus. Allerdings steht es auf einem uralten Steinfundament, das kaum mehr als solches zu erkennen ist und es ist von der Strasse abgewandt. Deshalb vermute ich das an dieser Stelle schon lange ein Kreuz stand und die Strasse früher einen anderen Verlauf hatte.
