William Stranly's headstone is a traditional tree stump marker. The stump is tall with squared edges. The inscription is located on a scroll hanging by a rope, with a dove sitting on it. Crossed implements are engraved above the scroll.
An unusual variation on this marker is that the Woodmen of the World seal is not engraved on the stone, but is on a square bronze plaque at the top of the headstone. We haven't seen one like this before.
The inscription reads:
