Maurice Boverat recounts the last moments of the tank was 26 January 1945, "the Chemin des Dames is reached full force. Minozi is projected away from the tank but gets away without damage; the tank commander, though severely wounded, managed to jump ashore, but our poor comrade Mager was not so lucky: severely affected, he managed with great difficulty to climb out of the tank in flames, but there his strength abandon... The next day a volunteer under the shells will find his charred body and shriveled."
