The gazebo on the Cape Girardeau County courthouse lawn was completed in 1932 at a cost of $1300. The courthouse gazebo served as a stage for the Jackson Municipal Band until the dedication of the present band shell, located in the city park, in July of 1976. Today it is used for everything from photo’s with Santa to small groups meeting for small events.
