The church was originally dedicated to Boniface. In a document from 1553 mentions the church of St. Vitus in Antiqua Bercoop. Since 2004 the church called St. Boniface Church. The single-nave church has a romance ship ( 12th century ) of tufa and features arched windows. It was extended in the 14th century in Gothic style. Early 16th century it became choir renewed. In 1585 , during the Eighty Years' War , the tower collapsed. The saddleback tower was rebuilt around 1608 with Frisian sticky notes. In the years 1926-'32 took place a restoration plans by HM Hulsbergen. These are changes (including plastering) removed in 1845.

The organ from 1919 L. Van Dam en Zonen replaced an organ built by JC Scheuer from 1858. The organ gallery was renewed in 1964. The church is the canopied men's bench from the 17th century and a font of sandstone from the 14th century by Chris Fokma was given a new edge.

The cemetery is walled. It had originally four gates according to a drawing (1732) by Cornelis Pronk. The church (with graveyard and surrounding wall) is a national monument.
