Tanglewood was created in 1973. "Our trails and Nature Center and Museum are free to all, members and nonmembers alike." The Nature Center is open Tue-Sat. Trails are open dawn to dusk 365 days a year.

"The mission of Tanglewood Nature Center is to lead and support education and preservation efforts in our region to achieve a heightened awareness, understanding, enjoyment, and caring for our natural environment.

We strive to fulfill our mission every day by: maintaining over ten miles of trails, offering educational programming for children and adults, providing homes in our exhibits for more than 40 native and exotic animals, and welcoming over 35,000 visitors a year. "
