This triangulation station was set by U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey in 1952. The station is located rocky point off shore from Depoe Bay. The station is accessed via a public trail which begins at the corner of NW Sunset St. and Alsea Ave. No parking at trailhead. Follow trail to the rocky shore and then go south for about 250 yards to the station near a high point

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1972 (LFS) THE STATION WAS RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION, AS DESCRIBED. INASMUCH AS THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS TO REACH, A TO REACH FOLLOWS. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE DEPOE BAY POST OFFICE GO NORTH ON U.S. HIGHWAY 101 FOR 0.45 MILE TO SUNSET LANE ON THE LEFT, TURN LEFT, AND GO WEST ON SUNSET LANE FOR 0.2 MILE TO WHERE THE ROAD TURNS SHARPLY TO THE NORTH, AND THE END OF TRUCK TRAVEL. HIKE WEST ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF A RED HOUSE, AS PER SIGN, TO THE ROCKS, FOR 50 YARDS TO THE TOP OF THE ROCK LEDGE, THEN HIKE SOUTH FOR 250 YARDS TO THE STATION. AIRLINE DISTANCE AND DIRECTION FROM NEAREST TOWN 1/2 MILE NORTHWEST OF DEPOE BAY.
