This high level marks reminds of the flood of February 1984 which affected Herborn and other towns in the region

The beginning of 1984 brought a series of thunderstorms and severe flood situations to the Dill and Lahn region. Herborn was also affected. In the early morning hours the centre of Herborn was 1.80 meters under water. The plaque shows how high the water rose near the railway station.
