The restored Volcano House offers 33 historic guest rooms, a dining room, snack bar, lounge, and gift shop, along with cultural events and demonstrations. Volcano House also manages the camper cabins and campsites in Namakanipaio Campground.

Commanding Hawaii’s most unique lodging location, Volcano House overlooks Halema‘uma‘u Crater at the summit of Kilauea. Hike to the Napau Trail to view Pu‘u O‘o along the East Rift zone to witness spectacular eruptions of Kilauea, fed by the Hawaiian hotspot that formed the Hawaiian archipelago through 28 million years of volcanic activity.

As Hawaii’s oldest hotel (1891), Volcano House has hosted visitors from around the world for generations, and its historic buildings represent a vital piece of Hawaii’s tourism history. Deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture and hospitality, the Hotel offers an exceptional visitor experience and a legacy of aloha. In partnership with the National Park Service (NPS), Volcano House is proud to welcome visitors with a renewed commitment to Hawaiian hospitality.
