Running parallel to the New England Highway, north of Tenterfield, is this almost iconic railway bridge, that is QUITE dilapidated, as the rail line is no longer in use.

This used to be a part of the Main Northern Rail Line, but as can be seen by the photos it has not been used for quite a while. It has also been caught up in a few floods, by the amount of debris still clinging onto the concrete, brick, and sandstone capped pylons.
There is a total of five pylons, with three definitely in the reach of Tenterfield Creek when in flood. There is bricked abutments on the northwest and south-eastern ends of the wooden truss bridge.
There is also a Challenge Geocache (GC4YPG2) placed on this bridge, so, if you qualify by having an Average of your Difficulty, and Terrain of geocache finds of 1.80 (or higher), then PLEASE take care as you approach where the cache is hidden - Found it! 2 April, 2015, on my way to the Qld OzMega.
Parking would be okay near SSM SS29193: S28º 59.136' E151º 56.999'
As I was returning home from a CITO Event at Stanthorpe (Qld) there was several cars pulled up taking photos of this bridge. (At either ends of the main road bridge.)
Bridge Type: Truss

Bridge Usage: Abandoned/Not Active

Moving Bridge: This bridge is static (has no moving pieces)
