Production of the 1983 Model year Corvette saw some of the most sweeping changes ever for the line. There were a total of 44 pre-production Corvettes completed. This all-new design, the C4, required time to ensure that it was defect-free prior to full production. As a result, Full production was delayed to the 1984 model year. The remaining 1983 models were destroyed through testing.
The car on display GM-numbered 23, is the only remaining 1983-serialed Corvette anywhere.
