"Der zur Ahrtalbahn gehörende Bahnhof am westlichen Ortsausgang von Dernau wurde, wie die meisten Bahnhöfe an der Ahrstrecke, kurz vor der Wende zum 20. Jahrhundert gebaut und trägt mit Natursteinmauerwerk im Erdgeschoss sowie Fachwerk in den Obergeschossen typische Merkmale seiner Zeit."
