Kupferberg ist der traditionsreichste Bergbauort des Frankenwaldes. Seit rund 700 Jahren wurde hier Bergbau auf K U P F E R E R Z E betrieben. Auf Initiative einiger montanhistorisch Interessierten gelang es in der Ortsmitte am Kirchplatz Räumlichkeiten für ein kleines Bergbaumuseum zu schaffen, das an die Geschichte des Bergbaus in der Stadt erinnern soll. Es sind weitere Aktivitäten hier am Ort geplant. Seit 2015 gibt es ein aktives Besucherbergwerk hier am Ort, das im ersten Jahr seiner Eröffnung ca. 2400 Besucher begrü0en durfte.

Kupferberg is the most traditional mining community of the Franconian Forest. Copper ore has been mined here for about 700 years. On the initiative of some montane interested in history succeeded in the town center on Church Square premises for a small mining museum to create that commemorates the history of mining in the city.
