The former London Chartered Bank was built in 1859,using the Renaissance Revival style to a design by architect Leonard Terry. The building is a two storey structure with basement, using basalt and Barrabool sandstone for the facade. The banking chamber and offices were on the ground floor and the managers residence on the first floor.
In 1921 the London Chartered Bank merged with the English, Scottish and Australian Bank which in 1970 became part of the A.N.Z. Bank. These days the building houses two cafe/restaurants on the ground floor
