"Gnomon supported by gilded crossed keys. Gold lines and lettering on white and blue ground. Shows 7am to 5pm in half and quarter hours. Uses XII and IIII. Half hours further marked by lozenges between the numerals. Numerals are in line with hour lines. Horizon line cut off by roof line. Arch under leaves lower time scale bent. Dial therefore has ‘arrow’ appearance."

The crossed keys usually represent Saint Peter, leader of the Apostles, who died in AD 64. He is represented by two keys crossing each other, because, according to the Bible, Jesus told Peter that he would be the rock on which his church would be founded and that he would personally be given the keys to heaven.
Sundial Type: Vertical - Wall mounted dial plate
