In the town Wittmar which means in saxon language "white horse" was build a romanic church in 930 AD, on a predecessor building from times of christianisation under Charles the Great about 800.

The town is vanished during the times, may after the 30years war and following disease plagues.

Today the chapel is used only on Corpus Christi for a procession and mess. Stations of the Cross sourround the area.
