Alfred William Mellors, son of Alice & William Mellors was born in December 1894 in Beesdon Nottinghamshire. He enlisted with the Royal Marine Light Infantry: Portsmouth Division in December 1912. In unfortunate circumstances he was killed by a lightning strike 1n 1938.
