The plaque says, "Virginia's virgin forrest provided materials for the settler's most basic shelter. Centuries ago, first growth trees were felled and the wood hewn to form this single-room log cabin in Pinery River, Virginia, 45 minutes south of here. The structure is being reconstructed on this site and will be used to highlight 18th-centure trades."
