"We are funded entirely by donations and the money we make at our fundraisers. We also occasionally receive grants from companies in our community.
We exist because many pets in our area, particularly cats, find themselves homeless. New kittens are born each year, yet they don't always find a home. Some people do abandon their pets, and some people simply can no longer care for them. Many wonderful pets are left with no one to care for them, and that is where ACC comes in.
ACC was formed in 1978 by a group of caring people who wanted do something about the growing over-population of cats. In the beginning, all of our rescue cats were being cared for in individual homes. Then in 1999, we were able to locate ourselves in a storefront at 131 Washington Avenue in Endicott, and there our Adoption Center and low cost Spay/Neuter Clinic got a permanent home."
