The pole is an electric rotating pole on the wall above the shop window.
When the shop is closed and the shutters are down, an impressive graffiti style picture adorns the shutters.
The picture shows some one sat on a barbers chair wearing a jewelled crown. His T shirt has the slogan 'A cut for a king' - a pun on the name of the barber Chris King.
The 'tag' name n the painting is also Chris King.
