In Bath, within the Maine Maritime Museum, is a multi-part sculpture named "Wyoming," and suggests the size of the largest ship built at this location.

The Maine Maritime Museum is located along Washington Street, south of U.S. Route 1 and south of the Bath Iron Works. The sculpture is visible from the street as the poles tower above the buildings, but to see the whole sculpture including signs about the ship and sculptures.

The sculpture is a large installation that is in several parts. Nearest the road is the part representing the bow and the first mast, with a flag, is closest to the road. The stern portion is closest to the Kennebec River. Between these are five flag poles with flags (six masts in all). This assembly of forms shows what the size of Wyoming would have been as it was being launched into the river.

There is a sign that provides particulars about the ship and sculpture. The main area is a photograph showing the Wyoming at launch on December 15, 1909. It also states that the sculpture isn't at the exact spot where the ship was launched - thus the perspective is different. It also states: "The original Wyoming was a coastal schooner capable of carrying 6,000 long tons of coal. She was the largest of seven six-master, and many other vessels, built in this shipyard.

Sparred Length
(tip of jibboom/bowsprit
to stern rail): 426 feet"

There is also a list of contributors and other people to thank, including General Dynamics Bath Iron Works.
