As the Plaque reads:

Jerrold Ernst Ruttan Armstrong
Oct. 28 1903-Feb. 18 1984

This Jerry Armstrong Park is so named to honor a local citizen in recognition of his contribution to Kinistino and surrounding community.

Jerry's profession as a teacher brought him to Kinistino in 1928. Where he met and married Lois Ozmun.

Jerry and Lois raised two children, Rhonda and Bill. Ever one to "Get on with It". At the outbreak World II he joined RCAF serving overseas the secret service branch.

Jerry realized that stories are best told by their artifacts so he encouraged this collection and preservation of them. In doing so he helped to establish the local museum which is located here among the many trees he planted and lovingly cared for in order assist in the development of this park. He valued the rich heritage of the Kinstino area and wrote a history book of its early years. "Kinistino" Book 1 was published in 1980, the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the province of Saskatchewan.

As an educator Jerry taught his students to acquire an open inquisitive mind thus assisting in molding the lives of many of the decision makers of this community. He was a loyal and valued friend to Kinistino and its people.

The plaque and gateway were erected June 1990 by his comrads of the Kinistino Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 129 and people of the surrounding communities.
