[DE] Das Obere Schloss liegt auf dem 307 m hohen Siegberg in der Stadt Siegen. Die Anlage geht auf eine mittelalterliche Höhenburg zurück, die anfangs in gemeinschaftlichem Besitz der Erzbischöfe von Köln und der Grafen von Nassau war. Später ging sie ganz in nassauischen Besitz über. Teilweise umgebaut diente sie zeitweise als Residenz. Heute beherbergt die Anlage das Siegerlandmuseum.

[EN] The Obere Schloss (Upper Castle) is located on the Siegberg in Siegen. It goes back to a medieval hilltop castle, which was at first jointly owned by the archbishops of Cologne and the Count of Nassau. Later it went over in Nassau possession. Partially reconstructed, it served as a residence temporarily. Today it houses the Siegerlandmuseum.
