Stewart Mountain Dam impounds Saguaro Lake and is located in Tonto National Forest east of Mesa, Arizona. Stewart Mountain and Stewart Mountain Dam are named for the Stewart Ranch which is now under Saguaro Lake.

The dam was built between 1928 and 1930. It is 212' high and 583' long and includes a 13,000 kilowatt hydroelectric generating unit.
Saguaro Lake is 10 miles long, has 22 miles of shoreline, has a capacity of 69,765 acre-feet, has a 1,264 acre surface area and has a maximum depth of 110'.
The dam is part of the Salt River Project (SRP) which is the oldest multipurpose federal reclamation project in the U.S. SRP operates as both an electric and water utility.
