The picturesque, originally Gothic castle was built approximately in 1241 as a guarding castle. Property of the Lemberk family until the end of the 14th cent, rebuilt in the Renaissance style and later adapted in the Baroque style. The whole 19th cent. Lemberk was owned by the Clam-Gallas family, at the beginning of the 20th cent, it was bought by the Auerspergs who had the interiors adapted. Exhibition of the history of interior culture, a garden and an English park not far from the chateau.

Malebný, puvodne gotický hrad Markvarticu postaven asi roku 1241. Vznikl jako strážní hrad, ale sloužil rovnež jako šlechtické sídlo. V držení Lemberku až do konce 14. stol. Na hrade žila Zdislava z Lemberka, významná osobnost ceských dejin 13. stol. Prestavený na renesancní zámek a pozdeji upravený v barokním slohu. R. 1623 pripojil Albrecht z Valdštejna Lemberk i celé panství k frýdlantskému vévodství. Celé 19. stol. patril Lemberk Clam-Gallasum, ale na pocátku 20. stol. jej koupili poslední šlechtictí majitelé, Auerspergové. V dobe jejich pusobení došlo k úprave interiéru. Byl témer neustále obydlen až do novoveku. Po 2. sv. válce prešel zámek do vlastnictví státu a byl zrestaurován. Od roku 1951 zrízena expozice dejin bytové kultury. V blízkosti zámku zahrada a anglický park.
