V roce 1922 byla zahájena pravidelná autobusová linka z Vyškova do Jedovnic. Do ostatních obcí obstarávali autodopravu soukromí dopravci. Teprve po zrízení dopravního závodu CSAD v roce 1951 byly postupne zavedeny autobusové spoje do všech obcí v okrese. V roce 1962 bylo vybudováno nové autobusové nádraží. Soucasnou mestskou hromadnou dopravu ve meste zajištují ctyri autobusové linky, které jsou soucástí Integrovaného dopravního systému Jihomoravského kraje.
Nachází se na jihozápadním okraji mesta a je umísteno v tesné blízkosti hlavní silnice. Odjíždí odtud všechny autobusové spoje jak dálkové, tak i do obcí vyškovského regionu.
