The International Airport of Praia was renamed to Aeroporto Internacional da Praia - Nelson Mandela. This happened in January 2012, about seven years after its inauguration.
It's a small but pleasant airport, located about 3,6 km off the city center. There is no public transportation, so a taxi is necessary. Expect to pay about 7,50 Eur during the day and about 9 Eur after dark.
