The original industrial development was by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, then by the Erie Railroad. Main Street is the commercial development. Large Churches and prominent residences are on the corners of the district. There are buildings constructed or endowed by the Johnson family. There are two houses that predate the village.
