Start from the Pole Creek Trailhead which is generally SW, 12.2 miles by road from the Sisters Ranger Station. Hike generally SW on the Pole Creek Trail #4072 for 0.5 miles until the trail turns sharply E. Continue cross-country, SW for about 230' to the corner.
Type of survey mark: 3-1/4" aluminum cap on aluminum pipe in a mound of stones; rising 7"

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
There are two U-posts. LAND SURVEY MONUMENT and NATIONAL FOREST WILDERNESS signs are mounted on one which bears E, 60" distant. A NATIONAL FOREST WILDERNESS sign is mounted on the other which bears N, 57" distant. There are three reference monuments, 2" aluminum caps on 5/8" rebar, bearing ENE, SSE and SSW, all about 10' distant. In addition there is a bearing object, a 58x28x12" bedded rock with a magnetic nail and washer stamped PLS 2396 and a chiseled X BO, which bears WNW, about 35' distant. All accessories are marked with LAND SURVEY MONUMENT signs mounted on U-posts. Based on field measured GPS UTM grid coordinates, the present section corner bears S0.7°E from T16S R8-1/2E S13 R9E S18 1/4 COR, 2638' distant.
