28. zárí 1935 se konala v sále na Severní tocne ustavující valná hromada sboru dobrovolných hasicu Bedrichov. Predsedou prípravného výboru byl bratr Antonín Halík, který prednesl svým bratrum myšlenku "proc" založit hasicský sbor na Bedrichove. V dobách prevratových byla obec Bedrichov ovládána pouze obyvatelstvem nemecké národnosti a ceská menšina jen živorila.
V nekolika letech nastal pro ceský národ obrat k lepšímu. Ceský živel se vzmáhal a dosáhl dosti príznivé prevahy. Vzrustem ceského obyvatelstva se u neho jevila snaha být prospešným všem i na poli humánním. Ceský obcan trpce nesl, že v této obci je jen nemecký hasicský sbor, který mel sice za úkol všeobecnou prospešnost, ale jeho úkolem bylo mít vliv na obcany nemecké národnosti. Ceský obcan se z pocátku snažil uplatnit u nemeckého sboru v Bedrichove, domáhal se toho, aby byl za clena prijat, ovšem za predpokladu, že bude státní jazyk i ceský obcan respektován. Byl však odmítnut. A práve to dalo podnet k myšlence založit Ceský hasicský sbor v Bedrichove.
Tímto dnem je založen SDH Bedrichov, který prijímá stanovy Hasicské jednoty a stává se soucástí Havlíckobrodské župy. Starostou byl zvolen bratr Karel Dršata, clenským príspevkem byla schválena jedna koruna mesícne. Prítomný starosta obce Bedrichov Václav Gregor byl touto myšlenkou potešen a oznámil prítomným, že obec venuje hasicum cástku 1000 korun.
V roce 1937 byla zakoupena první nová autostríkacka. Z duvodu výstavby hasicské zbrojnice byla svolána mimorádná valná hromada. Budova byla postavena stavební firmou Janko za necelých 50 000 korun. Na pocátku druhé svetové války byla budova k dispozici pri mobilizaci. V prubehu války nastal útlum v cinnosti dobrovolného hasicstva. Nemci stále usilovali o zrušení sboru, ale díky bratru veliteli Plchovi, který dokázal sbor uhájit, byl sbor nedotcen a zachován. Mezi mnoha umucenými v koncentracních táborech byl i bratr Pravda. Po válce sbor znovu ožívá a zapojuje se do dení v padesátých letech. 15.12.1953 vzniká první družstvo žáku pod vedením Adolfa Jiráka, který se mládeži venoval až do konce svého života. Družstvo žáku dosahuje úspechu na nejvyšších postech a stává se nejlepším družstvem v jihlavském kraji.
Cinnost sboru byla velice aktivní. Provádela se školení i výcvik požární jednotky. Ta mnohokrát zasahovala pri požárech, ale i pri množství námetových cvicení. Clenové provádeli preventivní hlídky a mladými požárníky byly drženy žnové hlídky. Muži, ženy i družstva žáku se úcastnili souteží v celém kraji. Spolecenský a kulturní život na Bedrichove byl velice pestrý. Hasici porádali plesy, zábavy, zájezdy, výlety a ruzné oslavy, predevším k MDŽ. Za pomoci MeNV byly dodelány opravy ve zbrojnici, když v roce 1967 zde byla zavedena voda a plyn. I nadále pracují mladí požárníci pod vedením Marie Schwarzové. V roce 1970 mel sbor 63 clenu, z toho 13 žen a 9 mladých požárníku, kterí svou cinností vzorne reprezentují bedrichovské hasice. V roce 1973 pod vedením Evy Schlingsbierové se mladí požárníci zapojili do celostátní hry Plamen, kde dosahují opet na nejvyšší prícky. Toto období až do roku 1976 hodnotíme jako nejúspešnejší. Skvelé výsledky dosahovali všechny vekové kategorie.
V roce 1976 dochází k rozpadu kroužku mladých požárníku. Obnovit kroužek se podarilo až v roce 1985. O jeho cinnosti však nebyly nalezeny žádné záznamy.
V roce 2000 prichází do sboru nová clenka, odchovanka hasicu v Dolní Cerekvi, Andrea Dopitová, která na radu Oldricha Kotouna znovu zakládá za pomoci velitele sboru Jirího Bláhy dve družstva mladých hasicu, která se i dnes zapojují do celostátní hry Plamen a úcastní se kol okresní a krajské ligy.
Velkým prínosem pro SDH Bedrichov byl príchod nového clena Marka Zemína, který se stává také vedoucím mládeže a v roce 2003 starostou SDH Bedrichov. Jeho zásluhou je obnovena technika ve zbrojnici a chod cinnosti sboru.
