Between Topsham and Brunswick, off U.S. Route 1, is the Wire or Androscoggin Bridge.

The bridge is located about 3/4 mile southwest of the center of Brunswick. A small parking lot is available off Route 1 on the north side. Parking is also available on the Topsham side by navigating through the residential roads.

The bridge is a suspension bridge used by workers of the mills in Brunswick who lived in Topsham. The bridge was built in 1892 by the owners of Cabot Mills. It was designed and constructed by John. A. Roebling's Sons Company. In 1936, a flood pulled the deck off the suspension cabling. From 1936 to 1938 the WPA restored the bridge.

Since then the bridge went through another renovation in 2000 and has since been designated a local Engineering Landmark by the Maine Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
