The Finley Cane Trail is 2.8 miles long. It runs from Laurel Creek Road (the road to Cades Cove) to the Bote Mountain Trail. It is possible to make an approximately 7 mile loop hiking from the Laurel Creek Road end of Finley Cane Trail (WMCDCF) to this trailhead. Then follow the Bote Mountain Trail 2.5 mile to the Lead Cove Trail (WMPWP0) and returning to Laurel Creek Road on the Lead Cove Trail.

The Finley Cane Trail passes through a small cane break, from which the trail gets its name, and an area of large yellow poplar trees.
