St Mark's was built of wattle and daub in 1842 and later a timber frame and weatherboard overlay were constructed, the roof is clad in shingles (having originally been a thatched roof ), the original windows were covered in oil soaked calico later replaced with pairs of cast iron windows with diamond shaped leadlight glass. The church was restored in 1936 and again in 1969.
The church was opened without being consecrated in 18 September 1842 and was finally consecrated on 13 July 1969
