The "Brunnen vor dem Tore" ist right outside of the medieval city wall of Allendorf, a scenic old town on Werra River. Behind this fountain stands a lime tree, which both are mentioned in the poetry from Wilhelm Müller and the song "Am Brunnen vor dem Tore" from Farnz Schubert.
