This solar array is owned and operated by APS, a local electrical utility. It is located off Cooper Road behind former Fire Station No. 7. The area was originally a water recharge facility for the local wastewater treatment plant. The area had become a successful riparian area and major birding destination. Contaminated ground water from a neighboring superfund site brought an end to the water recharge function so the utility set up the solar arrays in the former basins. The site produces 144 kilowatts of electricity.
