This sign is one of 22 along Water Street on the west side of the Sutton County Courthouse. This sign preserves the history of Isaac & Victoria Miers, early Sutton County pioneers.

The sign reads as follows:

"One of the early families in Sonora was that of Isaac and Victoria Miers. They built the fifth house in Sonora. Isaac was born April 13, 1835 in Carroll County, Mississippi. Victoria was born December 11, 1841 in Painsville, Lake County, Ohio. They married in Madisonville, Texas, January 13, 1867. Their children were:

Mary Adelaide Lula (Jackson) 5-18-1868

William Andrew 9-27-1870

Robert E. Lee 7-4-1872

Eula Electra Ida (Markwood) 8-28-1874

Wilburn Edward 8-4-1877
