I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey BM from 1954 in good condition. It is monumented on top of a circular concrete post projecting about four inches above the ground. The NGS datasheet is adequate for station recovery (enen the original wooden witness post is still standing). This station appears on a topography map as 'BM 4615'. The NGS coordinates are way off but my more accurate posted coordinates should place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 4 MI N FROM TENNANT. 4.0 MILES NORTH ALONG A GRAVEL ROAD FROM THE POST OFFICE AT TENNANT, 0.3 MILE NORTH OF A CATTLE GUARD, 31 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF A FIREBREAK, 28 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 1.9 FEET EAST OF A WITNESS POST, ABOUT LEVEL WITH THE ROAD, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.6 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND.
