USGS '49C 1931' BM - Siskiyou County, CA - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Geological Survey BM from 1931 in good condition. It is a brass disk monumented on top of a four-foot pyramid-shaped boulder that project about two feet above the ground. This disk does not appear in the NGS database but is listed on a topography map as 'BM 4849'. The station is located east of Antelope Creek and on top of a small knoll. The boulder is easily identifiable and the disk is easy to spot. My posted coordinates should place you pretty close to this station.

There is a dirt parking area north of Tennant Road and south of the station (BLM public land) where you can park and walk to station.
