"A series of informative plaques explaining the traditional names of some of Gibraltar’s oldest streets are being placed on buildings across town. The Government project kicked off this morning with the unveiling of two plaques: one at the bottom of Castle Street (La Calle Comedia) and one just next to it on Cornwall’s Parade (La Plaza de la Verdura). The Government has relied on the input and support of the Gibraltar Musuem, the Gibraltar Heritage Trust and several local historians.

Minister Paul Balban, speaking at a press call this morning, said that the new signs would “immortalize many of Gibraltar’s traditional street names.”

More plaques are set to be installed at Lover’s Lane, City Mill Lane, Flat Bastion Road and other locations."
