The original roadbed of the route of the Southern Pacific Railroad through Seminole Canyon, built by Chinese laborers in 1882 and abandoned in 1892 is still visible near the entrance to Seminole Canyon State Park off the US 90, in Val Verde County, Texas. The original roadbed is marked with a short state Park sign, and is very obvious, a 120 years after it was abandoned.
