Alt-Wildeptingen are the remains of a Castle on a hill north of Eptingen.

EN: The ruins of Alt-Wildeptingen are located on a hill on the eastern side of the valley north of Eptingen. It is situated higher and is smaller than the better-preserved ruin Witwald, which lies a few hundred meters to the north on the same hill.
From the castle only a few remains of walls and structures carved into the rock are visible.
The castle is not historically documented, but it can be assumed that it was originally built by the lords of Eptingen. It probably was built in the 11th or 12th century and was abandoned at the latest in the mid-14th century, in favor of the nearby castle Witwald.
The area is easily accessible but is situated at the edge of a high cliff, which is not secured.
DE: Die Ruine Alt-Wildeptingen befindet sich auf einem Hügel auf der östlichen Talseite nördlich von Eptingen. Sie ist höher gelegen und kleiner als die besser erhaltene Ruine Witwald, die einige hundert Meter nördlich auf dem selben Hügel liegt.
Von der Burg sind nur noch wenige Mauerreste und in den Fels gehauene Strukturen sichbar.
Die Burg ist historisch nicht dokumentiert, man kann aber davon ausgehen, dass sie ursprünglich von den Herren von Eptingen erbaut wurde. Vermutlich entstand sie im 11. oder 12. Jahrhundert und wurde spätestens in der Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts wieder aufgegeben, zugunsten der nahegelegenen Burg Witwald.
Das Gelände ist leicht zugänglich, befindet sich aber am Rand einer hohen Felswand, die nicht gesichert ist.
