The Roman Story of Gelligaer is well known – but how about the supernatural stories that have been intercepted by Malcolm Jones, after he found a Roman Coin.
He has travelled seeking out the story – driven by the call of the previous owner of the coin – and now this story has been written in “Walking in their Footsteps” which will be launch in Gelligaer on 3rd February. Come along and hear Malcolm’s unique story – and you might be convinced that the spirit of the Romans is still alive in Gelligaer.
A print of the Gelligaer Roman Fort is printed on a sheet of glass and mounted in front of the field that hides the fort, so you can imagine what the fort looked like in the past.
Almost 2000 years after the Romans and Silure battled across these fields and hills, Gelligaer is again telling the story of the Romans in the Valleys of south Wales. Why not come and visit this village, which has a history that stretches back to pre history, and a heritage waiting for you to explore.
