Im Steinweg steht an der der VR-Bank diese lebensgroße Bronzefigur. Sie zeigt einen Schleichwächter, der vorsichtig um die Ecke zum Kirchplatz schaut und eine Katze, die sich an eine Maus anschleicht. Die "Schleichwächter" waren dafür zuständig, bei Nacht möglichst geräuschlos in den Gassen der Stadt zu patrouillieren. Zu diesem Zweck waren sie mit alten Spießen bewaffnet.
Geschaffen wurde die Bronze 2010 von Ewald Rumpf, sie ist Teil des Rotenburger Skulpturenpfades, der durch Spenden finanziert wurde.
In the Steinweg at the VR-Bank is this life-size bronze statue. It shows a creep guard who looks carefully around the corner Kirchplatz and a cat that sneak up on a mouse. The "creep guards" were responsible to patrol at night in the streets of the city as quietly as possible. For this purpose they were armed with old spears.
Created in 2010 by Ewald Rumpf, the bronze is part of Rotenburger sculpture path, which was financed through donations.
