Start from the Scott Pass Trailhead which is generally WSW, by road 13 miles distant from the Sisters Ranger Station. Hike W from the kiosk on the trail for 0.6 miles, then S cross-county for about 1420' to the corner.
Type of survey mark: 2-1/2" brass cap on steel pipe in a collar of stones; rising 2"

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
There are two U-posts, each with a NATIONAL FOREST WILDERNESS sign. One bears E, 40" distant, and the other WNW, 30' distant. Also found a charred tree with a scribed blaze bearing SSE, 25' distant on the west bank of Alder Creek.

What property is this mark defining?:
The true corner, MONUMENT #2 on survey CS14797 filed in the Deschutes County Surveyors Office, bears W, 25.68' distant from the witness corner. The true corner, not set because it falls in a clump of gnarled trees, is on the Third Standard Parallel South and is AP 114 on the Three Sisters Wilderness boundary.
