DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1970 (WMJ) THE STATION IS THE FINIAL KNOB ATOP THE FAIRVIEW, MUNICIPAL WATER TANK THAT IS LOCATED ABOUT 0.3 MILE NORTH OF STATE HIGHWAY 100 AND AT THE WEST EDGE OF THE CITY OF FAIRVIEW. THE TANK IS SPHERICAL IN SHAPE, SUPPORTED BY FOUR TUBULAR STEEL LEGS AND IS ABOUT 130 FEET IN HEIGHT. IT IS PAINTED ALUMINUM IN COLOR.

Later it painted to white in color (as of 2013).
