Triple Mycomorph sculpture by Bernard Reynolds, to the rear of Christchurch Mansion by the entrance to the Wolsey Art Gallery.

"Metal sculpture presented as a garden feature, mounted on a fieldstone plinth. Three rising animal-like forms finished with small 'heads' are joined by an umbrella-like collar pierced with holes.

The sculpture is consistent with a post-war British style known as the 'geometry of fear'. Extraordinary fungal forms seem to bear witness to the possibility of life even in dark and unfavourable conditions, so that the sculpture may be said to be typical of a general artistic response the 'cold war climate'. The meaning of Triple Mycomorph however is further pushed back in time and emotionally darkened by the 1992 commission, made to memorialise a couple who 'disappeared' on the Continent in the Second World War. Despite the sadness of the commemoration, the intention was to symbolise hope by illustrating 'the continuous resurgence of life' "
