This Ironwood Tree, located on the grounds of the Usery Mountain Regional Park ranger station, is a typical tree of the upper Sonoran Desert. The tree is situated outside the ranger station to provide visitors with an example of the local flora. The wood of the Ironwood Tree is so dense it does not float. It produces lavender colored flowers.
