EN: The Chapel of St. Augustine and the Fourteen Holy Helpers is located northwest of the church in the center of Fiesch. It was originally the chapel of the Augustinian monastery Gnadenberg, founded in 1339 in neighboring Ernen and relocated to Fiesch in 1343 for reasons of space. The monastery impoverished and wa resolveds in 1489. The goods of the monastery were transferred to the parish. The chapel was called very dilapidated, but apparently restored soon, since in 1498 again worship took place there.
The present appearance is largely due to changes in the years 1771/72. In 1931 the chapel was extensively refurbished and provided with historicizing murals by Julius Salzgeber.
DE: Die Kapelle St. Augustinus und die 14 Nothelfer steht nordwestlich der Kirche im Zentrum von Fiesch. Es war ursprünglich die Kapelle des Augustinerinnenklosters Gnadenberg, das 1339 im benachbarten Ernen gegründet und 1343 aus Platzgründen nach Fiesch verlegt wurde. Das Kloster verarmte und wurde 1489 aufgelöst. Die Güter des Klosters gingen auf die Pfarrei über. Die Kapelle wurde als sehr baufällig bezeichnet, aber offenbar wieder restauriert, da 1498 hier wieder Gottesdienste stattfanden.
Die heutige Gestalt geht weit gehend auf Veränderungen in den Jahren 1771/72 zurück. 1931 wurde die Kapelle umfassend renoviert und durch Julius Salzgeber mit historisierenden Wandmalereien versehen.
