Just a few blocks north of the intersection of US Hwy 281 and Loop 1604 in north central San Antonio, East Sonterra Boulevard runs parallel to Loop 1604. There is a medical complex on the northwest quadrant of where these highways intersect. The Methodist Stone Oak Hospital in on the north side of E. Sonterra Blvd and a cluster of private offices/clinics of medical specialists are on the southern side of E. Sonterra Blvd.
At an entrance into the complex at 2302 E. Sonterra Blvd, where one can then drive to the specific specialty medical office, stands a stone tower that has an eastward facing clock and a westward facing clock at the top of the tower. The tower is made of the same stonework many of the specialty offices also used on their buildings. Both clocks appear to be running, but neither clock had the correct time shown by the hands of the respective clock. Each face was a large, round, white disk with ocher colored Roman Numerals marking the hours. Much of the numbering has weathered, leaving only partial pieces of the numbers, but enough to make out what the time should be, especially based upon minute and hour hand positioning. The hands are black metal in a modified spade shape at the ends.The tower is oriented so one clock faces eastare and one clock faces westward. The overall height of the tower is probably 35-40 feet tall.
